Rebecca Judd has announced she is leaving Melbourne after months of turmoil over her luxury life in lockdown.
The mother-of-four, who recently left KIIS FM at 3pm Pick-up, revealed at the weekend that she had been temporarily saying goodbye to Victoria to experience “freedom” at NSW in Byron Bay over the summer holidays – and criticism was quick and brutal.
What Did Judd Say?
“We have no obligations in Melbourne (2021),” she told the Sunday Herald Sun.
“It will be good to have a little more freedom next year.
“What has taught us about COVID-19 is that most of our work can be done anywhere.
“We have a family all over the country and the ability to travel to Australia and we are still working while doing it.
Reactions From Fans
The 37-year-old is the latest celebrity to move to hippy beach, joining the likes of Zac Efron, Nicole Kidman and Melissa McCarthy.
But while she and her retired AFL player husband Chris Judd are only supposed to be away at the Byron Bay Beach until the Christmas party before returning to their $ 7.3 million “eternal home” in the Melbourne area of Brighton – some Twitter users believe that by another example of a star “displaying and whinging out her mansion is not enough”

Why The Backlash?
Some shared memes showing Melburnians opening Bec off as others thought the weather in Byron at the moment was “Mother Nature” in response to the news. One commentator even mocked Melbourne’s position as “the world’s most populous city” had been restored.
The brutal outburst against Bec Judd began when the coronavirus pandemic began in March and Bec expressed her support for the closure measures, urging fans to download the COVID Safe app and wear a mask.
She even called for parts of the city with virus clusters to be closed in the early days of the second state wave.
