Taylor Swift Fans Outraged Over Exclusive Australia Mashups on Eras Tour
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Taylor Swift fans have taken to social media to voice their frustration over what they perceive as special treatment for Australian audiences during the pop superstar’s Eras Tour Down Under.

The latest controversy stems from Swift’s decision to perform an exclusive mashup of two of her popular songs, “Haunted” and “Exile,” during her concert in Sydney on Sunday night. The performance garnered roaring applause from the audience and quickly amassed millions of views online.

This is not the first time Swift has treated her Australian fans to exclusive performances. Throughout her tour, she has been incorporating unique “surprise” songs into her setlist, with “Exile” being one of the recurring selections.

However, some fans feel that these special performances should be more evenly distributed among all tour stops, rather than being concentrated in Australia.

Throughout her surprise song segment of the tour, Swift has the flexibility to don various coloured dresses – a detail keenly observed by Swifties, who noticed her penchant for wearing the yellow dress on evenings when she unveiled a startling mashup.

Fans who were familiar with “Haunted” or “Exile” prior to Sunday night expressed their disappointment at hearing the surprise song once more. However, Swift reassured a Melbourne audience that surprise songs would no longer be restricted to a single show.

“I aim to maximise creativity in the acoustic set going forward, without imposing limitations or restrictions on song choices,” she stated.
