Former Home & Away star Lincoln Younes has made headlines by taking a bold stance in the ongoing Australia Day celebrations debate.
The Aussie actor, known for his roles in popular television dramas, recently participated in an anti-Australia Day rally, adding his voice to the growing chorus advocating for a reevaluation of the national day.
Younes shared his attendance at the rally through a post on his Instagram account last Friday, capturing a powerful moment from the event.
In the photo, he is seen standing among thousands of fellow Australians, united in their protest against marking January 26 as Australia Day.
The actor accompanied the photo with a caption adorned with black, yellow, and red love hearts – symbolic of the colours found on the Aboriginal flag. This deliberate choice reflects Younes’ solidarity with the Indigenous communities and his support for their rights.
Last year’s Logie nominee and former soap star, joined by his friend and fellow actor, ABC star Costa Georgiadis, maintained a discreet presence, directing their attention solely to the ongoing debate.

The controversy surrounding Australia Day has escalated in recent years, with celebrities expressing their views on both sides of the matter.
Samantha Armytage, the host of Farmer Wants a Wife, voiced her support for Australia Day this week. Using Instagram as her platform, she shared an image of ten flags arranged in a silver cup on a coffee table in her home.
On top of the photo, the presenter wrote: “Finest country in the world.” This year, as perspectives evolved regarding commemorations on January 26, numerous stores and local councils opted out of hosting Australia Day events.
On January 26, 1788, the British ships of the First Fleet reached Sydney Cove, Port Jackson, establishing the colony of New South Wales.
However, for numerous Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, this date is not a cause for celebration. Instead, it symbolizes the commencement of the dispossession and marginalisation of Indigenous Australians.
