Euky Bear Australia has issued an urgent recall for its warm steam vaporisers due to the risk of overheating, which could lead to the base of the heating module disintegrating and producing smoke and fumes.
The recall has left many parents worried about the safety of their children, as these vaporisers have been a trusted tool for providing relief to kids suffering from colds, coughs, and other respiratory issues.
“In the event that the appliance is not switched off following the steaming process, there is a possibility that the base of the blue heating module could deteriorate, leading to the generation of smoke and fumes,” the company said.
The company has identified batch numbers 230301, 231101, A231101, and B231101 as subject to the recall, and they are advising parents to discontinue their use and contact customer service for further instructions.
The decision to recall the product was taken following discussions with the Therapeutic Goods Administration. This item was available for purchase online, at baby supply stores, and at well-known pharmacies, including Chemist Warehouse, from April to August of this year.
