With more waste entering landfills than ever, businesses and individuals must do everything to recycle their materials and reduce their waste. By doing so, it can ensure that renewables can re-enter the market as efficiently as possible and help reduce the 21-million tonnes of waste that enters Australian landfills each year. In fact, statistically, with the right sorting systems in place, up to 80% of the waste in Australian landfills could be recycled each year.

Making a stance against the environmental emergency, last year Abdullah Osman Kassim of Neptune Papers (Pvt) Ltd helped recycle over 35 Million KG of paper waste and 3.5 million KG of pre-consumer fabric. His business, based in Sri Lanka, works by creating customised waste management strategies for all businesses, so their specific needs are met. Using state of the art Automated Baling Machinery and an in-house efficient sorting strategy, he can guarantee that every KG of waste successfully re-enters the circular economy.

Abdullah is currently working to bring the waste management technology to Australia. Above becoming a beacon of environmental sustainability, Neptune Papers (Pvt) Ltd has also acted as a stand-in for business owners impacted by China’s National Sword policy, where China banned all waste imports from external markets. They have done so by creating a range of business services that are easily accessible and readily available to business owners across multiple international markets.

The key services currently include:

  • Compacting & Shredding – Neptune Papers (Pvt) Ltd has the equipment and resources to  compact and shred paper products in an efficient and eco-friendly way. The collection of materials is complementary to all business owners seeking shredding services.
  • Recycling Solutions – Neptune Papers (Pvt) Ltd can introduce potential tailor made strategies for business owners to consider, which will ensure all waste generated have the opportunity to be injected back into the circular economy.

When asked why he is passionate about creating waste solutions for global businesses, Abdullah commented, “Wastage of any kind is a shame, and that is the ethos that built this business. Starting out as a basic collector and seller of waste materials, the business has evolved into a bespoke and focused player in the resource recovery space building on its contributions to the Circular Economy step by step.”

Abdullah currently sees the most success in helping businesses in manufacturing industries due to their high volumes of recyclable waste, being generated. However, he is eager to assist any business that wants to address its corporate social responsibility and make a positive change for the environment.

If you are looking for opportunities to improve the circular economy in your business, Abdullah and his team are always happy to chat. Reach out to them via the contact page on their website.
