Leading Australian telecommunication and tech organization, Telstra, has announced the appointment of Angela Logothetis as its new executive to lead the Edge and Cloud group under its Telecommunication department.
Logothetis is the former CTO of Israeli company Amdocs Open Network. In fact, she comes into the role at Telstra with a great reputation. She also brings experience at the highest level of telco operations.
Kim Krogh Andersen, the Group Executive at Telstra, took to Linkedin to express his delight:
“Logothetis comes to [Telstra] with an extensive background in the tech and telco space, having spent the past 13 years in various senior technology roles at Amdocs. As CTO of Amdocs Open Network, she led their work accelerating adoption of open cloud-native networks and edge compute, integrating the best of 5G, AI/ML and automation.”
Who’s Logothetis Replacing at Telstra?
Through this appointment, Telstra replaces Sarah Anderson, who was in the acting Executive role for the Edge and Cloud group for almost eight months. However, Telstra and Sarah haven’t parted ways yet. Sarah will continue at the company but as a Telstra Purple & Technology Services Executive.
Sarah has been one of Telstra’s most loyal servants, plying her trade at the organization for more than 9 years now. She has had various roles at the company. The list of her designations include:
- General Manager of Telstra Cloud Platforms, and
- Director for Global Hybrid and Public Cloud Products, etc.
Why the Appointment?
The appointment of Angela Logothetis is a big step in Telstra’s attempts to revamp its Telco department. The company’s efforts to transform its structures have been well documented.
Last month, Telstra unveiled its T25 program. They released all the details about it too. The reports confirmed that the company is under preparation for the transformation process, which is set to begin in July next year. The new agenda will last for three years until 2025.
Andrew Penn, the CEO of Telstra, told the media on Investor day:
“T25 aims to deliver $500 million of net cost reductions, cash conversion and generation, active portfolio management and shareholder value through an updated capital management framework.”
