Two Lady Gaga bulldogs from France were abducted on Wednesday night after a man armed with a gun fired the dog-walker in Hollywood, Los Angeles.
The male suspect fired an automatic handgun, who was reported in the US media as Ryan Fischer, before running away with the dogs.
The victim was taken to hospital in an undisclosed condition, Los Angeles Police confirmed to the BBC.
$500,000 Reward Money
Lady Gaga has offered a reward for the return of her dogs, Koji and Gustav.
A third dog, named Miss Asia, fled and was later found by police.
Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, is currently in Rome working on Ridley Scott’s new film, Gucci.
She is said to be giving $ 500,000 to anyone who can bring the dogs back.
Lady Gaga’s spokesman for the media said anyone with information on the dogs whereabouts could send an email to KojiandGustav@gmail.com.
About French Bull Dogs
It is not known if Lady Gaga’s pets were targeted because of her celebrity position, whether it was an opportunity – or planned – attack, because of the type of dog involved.
This is not an isolated incident involving French bulls. There have been several cases, around the United States, sometimes involving attacks on their owners, in which animals have been stolen.
In January, a San Francisco woman was attacked at gunpoint by three men who fled with her five-month-old puppy.
French bulldogs are very popular and sought after, but it is known that they are difficult to breed. They require artificial insemination and the physical characteristics of the dog – a large head and shoulders – mean they usually have to be delivered by Caesarean section.
Ongoing Investigation
Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that they are searching for a man who “fired a gunshot from an unknown location and struck the victim” on North Sierra Bonita Avenue at 9:40pm on Wednesday night.
“A possible suspect” fled the scene in a white car towards Hollywood Boulevard, they added.
