Kmart Australia is soon rolling out new robot workers in most of its stores by the end of 2022.

The retail giant Chief Customer Officer Lil Velis has confirmed the arrival of robot workers in stores around the country.

The new high-tech robots are expected to enhance the customer experience and help monitor stock levels.

A video uploaded on TikTok showed an army of robots moving around the aisle of the company’s store in Burwood, Sydney.

The video was uploaded by user @riakia82, captured at the Burwood, Sydney store, showing robots rolling through the aisle with a sign.

The sign reads: “Hi! I’m Tory!

“Don’t mind me, I’m just counting stock on our shelves.

“No need to move out of my way … I’ll go around you!”

The video went viral and received a mixed reaction from different people.

“This would be cool!”, said a user.

“These robots are a bit scary.” added another.

However, Mr. Velis is confident about the new arrivals in the stores and believes that robots would provide a better customer experience.

“At Kmart, we are always looking for ways to create a better experience for our customers,” Mr. Velis told 7NEWS.com.au.

“When we have an accurate view of stock, we can help more customers get the products they want, when they want it, whatever channel they are shopping with us.”
