The 38-year-old Canadian rapper delivered a captivating 90-minute set at Maison Batard’s Le Club on Bourke Street, treating a select 100-person audience to an unforgettable night of music and nostalgia.
As fans gathered in the intimate venue, excitement filled the air. When Drake took the stage, the room erupted with screams and cheers.
Known for his chart-topping hits and magnetic stage presence, the rapper did not disappoint.
He performed a blend of fan-favourite tracks, unreleased songs, and deep cuts, creating a rare and memorable experience for those lucky enough to attend.
The setlist featured tracks such as Pipe Down, Rich Baby Daddy, Faithful, and Trust Issues — a testament to his versatility as an artist.
The crowd, reportedly featuring 25 Miss Universe contestants at the phone-free party fully funded by Drake, enjoyed a range of drinks including “everything from champagne to martinis and shots,” according to the Herald Sun.
Club owner Chris Lucas told the publication he was “sworn to secrecy” about the event, adding, “It’s a testament to one of the coolest new clubs this country has ever seen, designed to attract the biggest names.”
Drake, who began his career as an actor on the Canadian TV series Degrassi: The Next Generation, has risen to become a global music megastar.
With four Grammy Awards to his name, he holds numerous Billboard Hot 100 records, including the most charted songs at 338, along with 78 top 10 hits and 13 No. 1 singles.
Despite his towering success, Drake made headlines last year after entering a high-profile rap feud with American rapper Kendrick Lamar, a clash that shocked the music industry.
Although the simmering feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar had spanned years, it escalated dramatically as the two exchanged musical jabs throughout the year.
While Lamar seemed to have the last word with his Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit Not Like Us, Drake responded by taking legal action, suing Lamar for “falsely accusing him of being a sex offender, engaging in pedophilic acts, harboring sex offenders, and committing other criminal sexual acts.”
He has also filed a lawsuit against his own record label, Universal Music Group, which distributes the music of both artists.
