Former teammates Toutai Kefu and Justin Harrison shared an emotional Video link on Stan Sport’s Rugby Heaven since the attack on Kefu and his family.

Kefu’s family is slowly recovering from the horror home invasion which left his wife Rachel and two of his children injured badly.

Recently, a group of teenagers had allegedly broken into the Coorparoo home early morning. Four of them have been charged with 44 violations including dangerous bodily harm and attempted murder.

Talking to the media after the attack, Kefu said, “the family’s recovery will be a slow process. I’m just grateful that we all go out, we’re alive,”

Additionally, he appreciates the efforts of his neighbor who didn’t afraid to help them hearing screaming from the house. Kefu said,

“He’s an absolute hero, unbelievable, he turned up the right time on Monday morning and apprehended one of the intruders.”

The tremendous amount of love and support to the family was immensely respected by Kefu and said,

“The outpouring of love and well wishes from everyone’s been unbelievable.”

Talking to Rugby Heaven Panel, Kefu assured me that they are doing fine. He said we’re all doing well”.

They are back in the house for a week now. He said, “It took my wife a while to get back in but we’re further down the road than what I would have thought a week ago. We’re all doing OK.”

Kefu Family Recovery and Strength

In the Video, Harrison paid an emotional tribute to the former on-field ‘’protector’’. They rewind some of the stories from their playing days.

Harrison said, “What an amazing man and the whole family Rachel, rockin’ Rachel, and the kids have all been a fabric of that rugby family for a long time, all through Brisbane Club competitions as well”.

Everyone admired him for his courage and bravery and for protecting his family. “He is a hero and what a great man to have in our rugby family,” Harrison said.

Kefu was stabbed in the stomach during the attack and was rushed to the hospital in an emergency. His wife and daughters were also badly injured as knives were used during the attack.

It was a piece of shocking news for everyone and the Australian rugby community. He receives support from Australian Chief Executive Andy Marinos who said, that our thoughts are with Kefu- the head coach of Tonga – and his family.

With all the support, and love he is recovered now and doing well with his family.
