Former United States President Donald Trump will return to social media with “his own platform”, his adviser said.
“I think we’ll see President Trump return to social media in about two or three months,” Jason Miller told Fox News.
Hottest Ticket In Social Media
He said the new platform “will be the hottest ticket on social media” and “will completely redefine the game”.
Mr Trump’s account was suspended on Twitter and Facebook following the January riots at the US Capitol in Washington DC.
The January 6 attack by Trump supporters in which five people, including a policeman, were killed, shook the very foundations of American democracy.
Account Suspension
A few days later, Twitter said Mr Trump’s account – @realDonaldTrump – “was permanently suspended … due to the risk of escalating the violence”.
Mr Trump has used Twitter as a means, for more than 10 years, to skip traditional media and speak directly to voters.
The former president had nearly 90 million followers on social media.
What Is The New Platform?
Not really anyone is aware of it yet.
Mr Miller did not elaborate on the matter, saying only that “everyone will be waiting and watching to see what President Trump really does”.
The adviser said Mr. Trump already had “strong meetings” with various teams regarding the campaign at his Mar-a-Lago resort of Florida.
“Many companies” have already spoken to the former president, Mr Miller said.
“This new social media platform will be huge,” he added, predicting that Mr. Trump will attract “tens of millions of people”.
Why Was Trump Banned?
Mr Trump was initially locked out of his Twitter account for 12 hours in January after he called people who raided the American Capitol “patriots”.
Hundreds of his supporters entered the capitol as the US Congress tried to secure Joe Biden’s victory in last year’s presidential election.
Twitter has warned that it will prevent Mr. Trump “permanently” if he again violates the rules of the social media platform.
After being allowed back on Twitter, Mr Trump posted two tweets that the company cited as the final straws.
The social media company said both of these tweets were “in violation of the Glorification of Violence Policy”.
Mr Trump’s accounts were also suspended on Facebook, popular gaming platform Twitch and multimedia messaging app Snapchat.
